Rogue Valley Law, Inc.
Rogue Valley Law, Inc., the local association of legal support staff in Jackson and Josephine Counties, would like to introduce itself to new attorneys and law firms in the area and re-introduce itself to existing law firms. The membership of the association is made up of legal secretaries, legal assistants and paralegals. RVLAW holds a monthly meeting at 6:00 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month. Each meeting consists of a social half hour with no-host cocktails, dinner, an educational presentation by a speaker, and a business meeting for members. Speakers include local judges, attorneys and court personnel. Past presentations have addressed a wide range of topics, including court procedure, office procedure, the similarities and differences among the various fields of practice, the view from the bench, ethics as it applies to the relationship between attorneys and support staff, and the roles of the District Attorney's Office and defense counsel in criminal cases. Annual dues for members are $45.00. Many local firms who appreciate the educational benefits and opportunities for staff networking provided by RVLAW pay the annual dues for their staff.
